A low pressure system will continue tracking eastward through northern China and will produce a strong front extending well into the central mainland on Saturday.Expect moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms to develop north of Beijing, while widespread scattered showers will extend into Xi'an. Beijing may see thunderstorm development with highs in the lower 30s Celsius.
Meanwhile in the south, a low pressure system spinning over the South China Sea will continue pushing moisture onshore along the southeastern coast of China.
Moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms will develop over Hong Kong with highs near 32 C, while Shanghai will also see thunderstorms with highs near 26 C. Widespread scattered showers will stretch from the border with Laos, north over Chongqing, and east into Nanjing.
In the west, wet weather will persist over Indochina and the Pacific Islands with moderate to heavy storms developing along the coasts of Thailand and Myanmar. However tropical storm development is not anticipated over the region.
In the east, a small trough of low pressure will linger over Japan and allow for wet weather to persist. However, the incoming system from China will quickly push the trough to the east throughout the day. Expect scattered showers in Tokyo with highs near 26 C.
In Australia, high pressure hovering over the country will allow for warm and pleasant weather over the country on Saturday. Sydney will see mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper teens C.
