Saudi Arabia says Prince Bandar bin Sultan will serve in his current post as national security adviser for another four years.A royal decree issued Wednesday said Prince Bandar's new term as secretary-general of the national security council will begin Thursday.
Prior to serving in the post, Prince Bandar was the Saudi ambassador in Washington for more than two decades.
A close friend of former President George H.W. Bush, Prince Bandar was at the White House during the 1991 Gulf War, after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and during the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
