WWViews is structured as a global alliance of individuals and institutions, including government agencies, NGOs, and universities. The 4,000 participants from 39 countries will vote on questions and propose and prioritize action recommendations in 46 venues across the globe, and four thematic areas will be discussed (climate change and its consequences, long-term goals, and the urgency of a new climate deal). The four themes are central to the United Nation Climate Change negotiations, which will take place in Copenhagen in December.

WWViews will share and publicize the results on the World Wide Web at around 6:00 p.m. today. Taiwan was invited to attend the event, and the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy and National Taiwan University were the two co-organizers for hosting the meeting in Tien Educational Center in Taipei.

According to Eugene Chien, chairman of the Taiwan institute, there will be 125 Taiwanese citizens participating in the world-wide synchronized meeting. The background of the participants from Taiwan is diverse, including musicians, teachers, shop owners, students, designers, civil servants, aborigines, and people from Kinmen and Penghu.

Legislative Yuan Speaker Wang Jin-pyng, Environmental Protection Administration Minister Stephen Shen, Chien, and Chao Yung-mao, dean of the NTU Social Sciences Faculty, will attend the meeting to give brief talks.
