Greece scored two first-half goals and beat Luxembourg 2-1 to qualify for the playoffs and keep its hopes of appearing at next year's World Cup in South Africa alive.Vassilis Torosidis in the 30th minute and Theofanis Gekas in the 33rd headed home for Greece.
Avraam Papadopoulos scored an own goal in the last minute to put Luxembourg on the score sheet.
Luxembourg played with 10 players from the 58th when Ben Payal was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Giorgos Karagounis.
Greece finished second in Group 2, one point behind Switzerland, who drew 0-0 with Israel on Wednesday.
