MINNETONKA, Minn. - Digi International (Nasdaq: DGII) today introduced the Digi TransPort WR44, an all-in-one enterprise-class cellular router with integrated Wi-Fi access point.

The multi-function Digi TransPort WR44 provides high-speed connectivity to remote devices by combining a 3G cellular router, state-of-the-art security, advanced routing, an Ethernet switch, global positioning system (GPS), telemetry and Wi-Fi access point all in one device.

This unique combination of enterprise-class features and flexible wireless functionality makes the router ideal for connecting remote devices in vertical applications such as transportation, remote office and retail point-of-sale.

"Industry-specific devices have special requirements that often cannot be satisfied with classic IT infrastructure," said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Digi International. "The Digi Transport WR44 has all the functionality of enterprise-class routers but with a vertically focused feature set designed for specific industry applications such as transportation, public safety, remote office, retail and financial."

The Digi TransPort WR44 can be used as a mobile hotspot in transportation applications such as in public safety vehicles, or on a bus, train, van or ship. It is also ideal for providing both primary and back-up connectivity to remote office networks.
