Britain's foreign secretary says he's confident that Afghanistan's Nov. 7 run-off election can be credible, despite widespread fraud that marred first-round balloting.David Miliband told BBC radio on Wednesday that he believes there is a better chance of a fair vote in the new election.
Miliband said: "I think it's possible to have a credible election that provides a legitimate expression of the will of the Afghan people."
He said that it is vital that Afghans are able to have confidence that any new government is elected fairly.
President Hamid Karzai and ex-Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah have both agreed to a runoff.
It follows intense international pressure over fraud in the country's tarnished Aug. 20 vote.
