German airline Air Berlin Plc said Wednesday it has entered a codeshare cooperation with Bangkok Airways of Thailand, allowing Air Berlin passengers to book connecting flights on the Thai airline.

The German carrier will offer together with Bangkok Airways codeshared connecting flights within Thailand from Bangkok.

Air Berlin is Germany's second largest airline after Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

It said it's offering passengers the flights operated by Bangkok Airways under its own flight number and that customers will benefit from a wider choice of flights and better connections.

Air Berlin said in its winter schedule, it will be operating four nonstop services a week from Duesseldorf, three nonstop services a week from Berlin-Tegel and two nonstop services a week from Munich to Bangkok.

Shares of Air Berlin were up more than half a percent at ⁈$5) in Frankfurt afternoon trade.
