German swimmer Paul Biedermann is battling a thigh injury that could prevent him from competing against Michael Phelps at the upcoming short-course World Cup events.Germany coach Dirk Lange says Biedermann, who has already ruled himself out of the Stockholm meeting next week, is racing against time to be fit for the Nov. 14-15 event in Berlin, where he is scheduled to face the American.
Biedermann beat multiple Olympic champion Phelps in the 200 meters freestyle at the Rome world championships in July.
