NKorea draws 0-0 with Brazilian club in friendly

North Korea's national football team held a Brazilian club to a scoreless draw in a friendly in the Asian nation's capital Thursday, Pyongyang's state news agency said.

North Korea, which qualified for next year's World Cup for the first time in 43 years, drew 0-0 with Club Atletico Sorocaba at Pyongyang's Kim Il Sung Stadium, the official Korean Central News Agency said in a brief dispatch.

As part of its World Cup preparations, the North Korea team flew to France last month where they played friendlies with French second-division club Nantes and the Republic of Congo. Both matches ended scoreless.

North Korea will compete in its second World Cup in South Africa next year after an epic run at the 1966 tournament in England, where it ousted Italy on the way to the quarterfinals where it lost 5-3 to Portugal.
