David Beckham will miss England's friendly against Brazil next week if his MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy beats Chivas USA in the Western Conference semifinals.Beckham was named in the England squad on Sunday, but with the proviso that the 34-year-old midfielder would not be available if the Galaxy won its playoff match later in the day.
The Galaxy is playing Chivas for a spot in next weekend's Western Conference final, when England is in Qatar to face Brazil.
England coach Fabio Capello named the squad as he prepares for the World Cup next June in South Africa. Manchester United striker Michael Owen again misses out.
