The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Phyan will continue to bring rain to western India on Friday. As the system loses strength, it will spread scattered storms stretching into Nepal. Sunny skies will return to Mumbai with highs in the upper 20s Celsius.Meanwhile, a strong cold front that caused periods of heavy rain over China will push off shore. Expect heavy rainfall with strong storms to develop from northeastern China and into the East China Sea toward the Korean Peninsula and western Japan, with rainfall totals ranging between two to five centimeters in most coastal regions.
Tokyo will be rainy with highs in the mid-teens C, as Seoul remains in the low teens C and also under scattered showers.
Meanwhile, high pressure will build over China and start to dry out the country from the west. Beijing will see mostly sunny skies with highs near 4 C. However, lingering showers will extend into southern and eastern China. Thus, cool and rainy conditions are anticipated over Shanghai and Hong Kong with highs in low teens C.
In Australia, expect another mild day with mostly sunny skies and dry conditions, except for a few coastal showers in the west. Sydney may see a few clouds with highs in the low 20s C.
