Latvia's Martins Dukurs has won the first World Cup skeleton race of this Olympic season.Dukurs' combined two-run time on the 2002 Olympic track of 1 minute, 39.75 seconds was about a half-second better than Germany's Sandro Stielicke. Britain's Kristan Bromley was third.
Zach Lund of the United States was fifth, about four-fifths of a second back of Dukurs.
The women's skeleton race is later Thursday.
