The Lotte Marines of Japan's Pacific League have signed South Korean player Kim Tae-kyun.Kim, a 27-year-old first baseman, agreed to a three-year contract with an annual salary of $1.6 million, the Nikkan Sports newspaper reported Friday.
Kim batted .345 with three home runs in the World Baseball Classic in March. He had a tournament-high 11 RBIs in helping South Korea to a runner-up finish.
Kim recently declared free agency from the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean league. He hit 19 homers and drove in 62 runs in 95 games for the Eagles this season.
