A very broad trough of low pressure will encompass much of eastern China Monday, pulling very cold air southward from Siberia that will dampen daytime high temperatures as far as southeast China and east well into Japan.An abundance of moisture will accompany this trough as a low pressure system tracks through southeast China. Expect widespread precipitation north of Vietnam through Shanghai including snow in inland China.
As the day progresses, the heaviest precipitation will move northeastward into the East China Sea toward southern Japan. Kyushu will experience precipitation late in the day.
Farther to the north, dry conditions will prevail in Beijing and North Korea, but frigid air will keep conditions very cold.
Tokyo will rise into the mid-10s Celsius, while Shanghai will see temperatures in the lower 10s C. Seoul will rise to just above 0 C.
For Australia, a small low pressure system will slide across Tasmania and into the Tasman Sea. Little moisture will be associated with this system bringing only a quick shot of precipitation to the island.
Expect some scattered showers in the western portion of the country due to a cold front. The rest of the country will remain dry. Warm conditions are anticipated for much of the northern portion of the country.
Sydney will rise into the lower 30s C, while Melbourne will see temperatures in the upper 20s C. Brisbane will rise into the upper 20s C.
