It has been confirmed that the pigs on farms in Kuanshan township, Pingtung County, have been cleared of influenza H1N1, which means they can be sold in wholesale markets, the county's animal health bureau said yesterday.According to bureau officials, the pigs on four of seven farms in the southern Taiwan township tested negative for the H1N1 virus from Nov. 11 to 13, after the virus was discovered among hundreds of hogs on a farm Nov. 5, in what was said to be a jump of the new flu strain from humans to pigs.
