Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region
Associated Press
2009-11-17 11:22 AM
While tropical storms are not expected to develop in the western Pacific on Wednesday, the region will see some active weather.

A low pressure system will continue moving over Japan and into the North Pacific Ocean. The center of this system will be well east of Japan, but the country will still see ample moisture. Scattered showers will persist over most of Japan, while the Korean Peninsula will be dry. Tokyo will be rainy with highs in the low 50s Fahrenheit (low teens Celsius), while Seoul will see plenty of sunshine with highs near 40 F (4 C).

In China, high pressure will dominate and allow for mild conditions. A trough will start to develop over central China, and will bring light and scattered precipitation. Shanghai will see a few patch clouds with highs near 50 F (10 C), while Beijing will be sunny with highs in the upper 30s F (near 3C). Hong Kong will be sunny with highs near 60 F (15 C).

In Australia, high pressure will bring mostly sunny skies and dry conditions. However, a few coastal showers may develop over Western Australia. Sydney will remain mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s F (low 20s C).
