Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid remained hospitalized on Saturday after being diagnosed with pneumonia.The team said in a release that Schmid started experiencing shortness of breath on Thursday and was taken to Overlake Hospital in suburban Bellevue.
Schmid's condition stabilized and he was improving, the team added.
Schmid helped Seattle become the first expansion team since Chicago in 1998 to reach the Major League Soccer playoffs in its first year.
