A 13-member mobile medical unit from Taiwan left New Delhi yesterday to provide free treatment to poor inhabitants of the Darjeeling and Sikkim areas on the northern tip of India.

The team, composed of doctors and other healthcare staff, was assembled by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) - the Taiwan government's overseas aid arm.
