Regent Taipei introduces online tree lighting activities to mark Xmas

Experience tree lighting in a whole new way! In being with the times, Grand Formosa is reaching out to all netizens who have increasingly become a driving force in the consumer market. With MSN and Facebook becoming new means of networking and reaching out to a larger consumer base, beginning November 19th, Grand Formosa has undergone an unprecedented venture with online tree lighting activities so that together, we may all light Grand Formosa's annual Christmas tree.

Netizens can light up the tree at Grand Formosa Regent Taipei's official website (www.grandformosa.com.tw) and express warm wishes to family and friends while enjoying fantastic savings such as 25% off hotel restaurants, NT$1,000 off accommodations, Spa vouchers, free red wine and more!

Grand Formosa will give out 16,800 discount and gift vouchers so for those everyone who decides to light it up with Grand Formosa is a winner. And to add to the exciting Christmas spirit, on November 26th at 6:50PM at Grand Formosa's 1st floor lobby in front of the Christmas tree, one lucky tree lighting netizen will receive one room night accommodation voucher for a stay in Grand Formosa's dazzling presidential suite, so welcome all net users and become a part of Grand Formosa history!

Standing at a soaring 42 feet in height, the tallest indoor Christmas tree in Taipei rises to over three elevated floors high and is decorated with over 16,800 dazzling LED lights, 2,600 ribbons, 5,000 golden and silver balls, 1,500 pinecones, and 2,100 Christmas flowers; with a total of over $1 million dollars in Christmas decorations. Displayed every November, this wondrous Christmas tree stands in the hotel's atrium, spreading a festive and joyous spirit to all those around. With a history of over 10 years already, this year's tree lighting ceremony is accompanied by the an innovative online tree lighting ceremony in hopes of spreading Christmas cheer and increasing public support through the inclusion of the growing online consumer population.

Those participating in the online tree lighting activities once entering the activity page, must first register. Then, participants must write a Christmas greeting which will be sent to friends and family via e-mail. This greeting will go through the activities page and will be shared with all other tree lighting participants. Concurrently, Grand Formosa will send you either a restaurant, accommodations, or Spa voucher as thanks for your participation and support. So warmest wishes to you from Grand Formosa!

Grand Formosa's formal tree lighting ceremony will take place on November 26th at 6:30PM in the first floor atrium. This year, Grand Formosa staff from all departments will be singing Christmas carols and celebrating this day of joy and merriment with special guests from Shanghai, China's luxury residence Thomson Riviera. The winner of a one- night stay in the presidential suite will also be announced at this time, so welcome all and revel in the Christmas spirit!
