350,000 turn out to watch Disney parade in Brazil

Organizers say 350,000 people showed up to watch a Walt Disney parade on Copacabana beach.

Sunday's parade was the first of a series being organized by Walt Disney Co. in Latin America's largest nation.

Disney fans of all ages packed the famous beach to watch their favorite characters along a 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) stretch, Globo TV's G1 Web site reported.

About 400 local artists participated in the "Magical Moments" event, which followed the standards of Disney's spectacles at its theme parks around the globe.

Organizers say parades are planned for the cities of Vila Velha and Sao Paulo later this month.
