Australia squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Kuwait in the qualifying tournament for the 2011 Asian Cup on Wednesday.Australia were 2-0 up within five minutes thanks to goals from Luke Wilkshire and Dean Heffernan, but Hamad Al Enezi pulled one back for Kuwait in the 39th minute and Youssef Nasser equalized five minutes later.
Kuwait and Australia both remain on course to qualify for the finals next year in Qatar, each needing just a draw from their final match to secure qualification.
Kuwait tops Group B on goal difference from Australia with eight points. Oman has seven points and Indonesia three.
