Employees will be on hand 24 hours a day during the Lunar New Year holiday while enough power has been stored to supply to customers, the Taiwan Power Corporation said yesterday.

A total of 4,200 employees would be on hand each day at power stations, generators and service stations to provide 24-hour service in the event of problems, the state-run utility said. If a power outage occurred, members of the public could call the 1911 emergency number, which would lead to the immediate dispatch of a repair crew, the company said.
