Svetlana Feofanova of Russia won the women's pole vault at the European Championships on Friday.Feofanova leapt a European season-best 4.75 meters at Barcelona's Olympic stadium and watched as German pair Silke Spiegelburg and Lisa Ryzih failed to come close. Both only cleared 4.65 meters to finish second and third, respectively.
Feofanova, a former world champion and Olympic silver medalist, claimed the European title left vacant by her countrywoman Yelena Isinbayeva, who skipped the championships.
