Taipei, Oct. 3 (CNA) Two Taiwanese tourists and an infant aboard a small boat died Wednesday after the craft capsized in waters off Boracay, a popular island tourist destination in the Philippines, the Tourism Bureau confirmed later that day. The bureau identified the three as 69-year-old Lai Yu-mei, 48-year-old Chang Ai-ling and 2-year-old Chen Ssu-ching. Taiwan's representative to the Philippines, Raymond Wang, said the three were among 30 Taiwanese tourists traveling aboard the pump boat, a major mode of transportation on Boracay. The boat overturned after being hit by a big wave and all the passengers fell into the sea. The bureau said the three deceased had tickets and hotel accommodation packages purchased through Taiwan-based travel agency BFT, which was helping the families of the victims to deal with the situation.
