Malaysia, Taiwan recognize each other's university diplomas

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jan. 31 (CNA) Malaysia and Taiwan will recognize the diplomas issued by each other's universities and colleges, said Hou Koh Chung, the deputy minister for higher education. At a news conference, Hou said Kuala Lumpur's Malaysian Qualifications Agency will recognize the diplomas issued by Taiwan's 157 universities and colleges, while Taipei's Higher Education Evaluation & Accreditation Council of Taiwan will recognize the diplomas issued by 121 Malaysian universities and colleges. The two organizations concluded a cooperation agreement on June 20, 2011 and followed it up with a joint declaration in July, 2012, that they would recognize the diplomas from each other's county.
