Magnitude 5.2 earthquake rocks eastern Taiwan

Taipei, Nov. 16 (CNA) A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck eastern Taiwan early Saturday, but there were no reports of casualties, according to the Central Weather Bureau. The quake occurred at 3:39 a.m., with the epicenter located at sea about 84.1 kilometers east of Hualien County at a depth of 16.9 km, the bureau said The strongest tremor, with an intensity of 2 on Taiwan's 7-grade scale, was felt in various places in Hualien County, Yilan County and Changhua County, the bureau said.
