ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (AP) -- Tessa Worley of France led the first run of a World Cup giant slalom on Sunday, while Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States skied out.

Overall standings leader Lara Gut of Switzerland went out in similar style to Shiffrin, sliding away while making a tight turn on the quick course.

Worley, the world championships gold medalist in GS, timed 1 minute 4.34 seconds on another day of ideal race conditions in the Swiss Alps.

Jessica Lindell-Vikarby of Sweden, who edged Shiffrin for GS victory in Beaver Creek, Colorado, this month, was second-fastest, 0.29 seconds back.

Kathrin Zettel of Austria was third, trailing Worley by 0.50.

Defending World Cup champion Tina Maze of Slovenia was sixth, with 0.76 to make up in the second run this afternoon.
