Taipei, Dec. 16 (CNA) Taiwan's outlying Kinmen County will have a chance to promote its tourism in Macau in February next year when the county is scheduled to hold a meeting with representatives from the former Portuguese territory. The plan was announced by Kinmen County Deputy Magistrate Wu You-qin in a recent meeting with Liang Wen-hui, assistant principal of City University of Macau, who led a delegation to Kinmen to better understand the county's tourism environment. Liang touted Kinmen as a place with a "leisurely" pace of life and a fast-growing tourism sector, which she suggested should not be developed too rapidly or excessively. Meanwhile, Liang said Macau has only 560,000 residents and relies heavily on gambling to drive its economic development. The area lacks management specialists, and 70 percent of its employed population have no better than senior high school educations, Liang said. (By Chen Shou-gow and Jeffrey Wu)
