LA airport shooting suspect to be arraigned on murder, other charges

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California (AP) -- The U.S. man authorities say killed a federal security screener and wounded three other people at a Los Angeles airport last month is scheduled to be arraigned at the lockup where he is being held without bail.

Paul Anthony Ciancia is expected to be asked Thursday to enter a plea to 11 felony charges, including murder.

Authorities say the 23-year-old arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Nov. 1 intent on killing Transportation Security Administration employees.

TSA Officer Gerardo Hernandez was killed when he was struck by a dozen bullets fired from a semi-automatic rifle.

Two other officers and a civilian were wounded.

Ciancia was arrested following a gunfight with airport police, who shot him four times.
