Taiwan's consumer price index (CPI) for December rose 0.33 percent from a year earlier to lowest level since last September, largely on the back of more expensive vegetable prices, the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) said Monday. CPI for 2013 rose only 0.79 percent, far lower than the annual target of 2 percent set by the Central Bank of the Republic of China (CBC) and also hit four-year low in 2013.
