BISCHOFSHOFEN, Austria (AP) -- Thomas Diethart of Austria secured the Four Hills Tour victory in his first season on the World Cup by winning the final event on Monday.

Diethart, who led the competition after three stops, jumped 140 meters in the final round to hold off a challenge by fellow Austrian Thomas Morgenstern, who finished the tour in second. Simon Ammann of Switzerland took third.

Diethart became the first athlete to win the prestigious tour on his first attempt since Anders Jacobsen of Norway seven years ago.

Kamil Stoch of Poland came eighth and stretched his lead in the overall World Cup standings over last year's Four Hills champion Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria, who finished 18th.
