Taipei, Jan. 8 (CNA) The Coast Guard Administration's Tainan maritime patrol on Wednesday apprehended and fined a Chinese fishing vessel for illegal trans-boundary trade of fishery products in Taiwan's territorial waters. The patrol caught two Chinese fishing vessels engaged in illegal transactions early Wednesday in waters about 13 nautical miles off Dongji Island in Penghu County. One of the vessels was apprehended and taken to Tainan, where it was fined NT$200,000 (US$6,610) in accordance with Taiwan's laws and then released. The patrol found that the fishing boat, which had departed from China's Fujian Province on Monday with four crew members, was carrying 150 kilograms of fishery products it had bought in Taiwan's territorial waters near Dongji Island.
