LIVERPOOL, England (AP) -- Liverpool came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Aston Villa on Saturday in the English Premier League.

The visitors took a deserved lead in the 25th minute when Gabriel Agbonlahor's cross from the touchline left midfielder Andreas Weimann with the simplest of finishes.

Striker Christian Benteke headed in a second in the 36th leaving the home side facing an uphill task.

Daniel Sturridge halved the deficit in first-half stoppage time, after Jordan Henderson's deft flick found its way into the striker's path.

The home side leveled matters in the 53rd when Steven Gerrard converted from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Brad Guzan felled Luis Suarez.

The draw consolidates fourth place for Liverpool as it chases a top-four finish.
