Job bank rolls out exclusive service for new immigrants

According to the National Immigration Agency (NIA), a total of over 480,000 marriage-based immigrants are permanently residing in Taiwan. To help new immigrants find a job, the NIA teams up with 1111 Job Bank, one of Taiwan's largest online human resources companies, to build an exclusive employment page for new immigrants.

According to 1111, a total of over 1,726 new jobs in 652 companies are currently available to new immigrants across the country. Working in partnership with the NIA, the human resource agency 1111 assists new immigrants with job search while giving employers a more diverse group of potential candidates.

Currently the openings are mostly created in consumer service sector (24.78 percent), followed by industrial and commercial service (20.44 percent), and information technology service (14.3 percent). Employers have been looking for operator/ manufacturing worker, food service waiter, and store salesperson in majority, according to 1111.

Li Ta-hua, the job bank's public relations director, said the new page not only provides more working opportunities for new immigrants, but also tips, legal guidelines, training information, and discussion forums for new immigrants to exchange their stories and opinions in finding jobs and adapting to a new working environment.
