Magnitude 4.1 earthquake strikes eastern Taiwan

Taipei, Jan. 23 (CNA) A magnitude 4.1 earthquake jolted eastern Taiwan at 0:28 a.m. Thursday, according to the Central Weather Bureau. The earthquake's epicenter was located 38.8 kilometers southwest of Hualien County Hall at a depth of 17.9 km, bureau officials said. The strongest tremor, with an intensity of 4, was felt in Wanrong Township in Hualien. (By Lee Hsin-Yin)
