Taipei, Jan. 24 (CNA) Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairman Su Tseng-chang visited the headquarters of Liberal International in Britain on Friday, asking the organization to continue supporting Taiwan after it elects a new chairman in April. Besides formally inviting the organization's new chairman to visit Taiwan, Su thanked it for its previous support of Taiwan. Such support includes two resolutions it passed, one of which called for a medical transfer for jailed former President Chen Shui-bian, also a DPP member, Su said. Su left Taiwan Jan. 19 for a week-long long visit to Europe with the aim of establishing contacts with European countries. It is Su's first visit to Europe since he began serving as the DPP's head in 2012. (By Sophia Yeh and Lee Hsin-Yin)
