KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) -- High winds delayed the first night of training for individual large hill ski jumping at the Sochi Olympics on Wednesday and later forced cancellation of a scheduled third round.

Four jumpers began the first round before officials stopped the training, wiped out the scores and restarted the round. Officials later cancelled the planned final round of the night.

It was the first of three days of training and qualifying for Saturday's large hill gold medal final, including three more training rounds on Thursday.

Simon Amman of Switzerland, the defending champion from Vancouver in 2010, was among those in the 70-man field. Also jumping were Sunday's normal hill gold medalist Kamil Stoch of Poland, silver medalist Peter Prevc of Slovenia and Anders Bardal of Norway, who earned bronze.
