Taipei, March 3 (CNA) Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. reported consolidated revenue of NT$7.2 billion (US$238 million) for February this year, the lowest in seven years since February 2007. Its total revenues for the first two months of 2014 were NT$16.9 billion, down 37.2 percent from NT$26.9 billion in the same period of last year, the company said in a statement. HTC Chief Financial Officer Chang Chia-lin said during an earnings conference call on Feb. 10 that January-March will be the low point for the company, which will then see "sequential increases" in revenue and profits in subsequent quarters. HTC has projected its first-quarter consolidated sales to be between NT$34 billion and NT$36 billion, which would represent a 16-21 percent decline from its NT$42.9 billion in sales in the fourth quarter of 2013. HTC shares opened 1.10 percent lower at NT$134.5 in Monday morning trading in Taipei. (By Jeffrey Wu)
