Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), a program funded by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and designed by the Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP), is devised exclusively for those whose Chinese is not the mother tongue. So far over 150,000 people from 60 countries have joined the TOCFL test. This year, the formal test will be held on May 3, and the organizer SC-TOP rolls out “simulated practice test” to be held on March 29 with low processing fee at only NT$100.

Starting from now on to March 7, the simulated exam will be opened to those who set to join May test and think of practice. The registration is going to end Friday March 7. The test participants will receive valued gift on the day of examination, and those who stand at the proficiency level or join the TOCFL Speaking test will receive a complimentary water-absorbing ceramic cup pad.

The simulated test on March 29 will include the listening, reading, and speaking tests. For listening and reading test, it will be divided in three levels: entry (Band A), advanced or high (Band B), and proficiency (Band C). Participants can decide which level of the formal test to be taken. The exam will be carried out on the computer with click of a mouse, and participants will be given a headset for listening test. After the simulated exam, the participants can find results immediately on the screen.

For the oral test, only the entry level (Band A) test is available so far. During the test, the participants will hear questions from teachers on the screen or based on the video clips or pictures displayed on the screen. Simulated test provides great help in three aspects: first, to help participants familiar with the test on computer; second, to know which level they are in so as to join the right exam; third, to help participants more prepared to ease the tensions on the formal exam in May.

The registration for the simulated test has kicked off until March 7. The test will be held on below venues: National Taiwan Normal University (main campus), National Taipei University of Education, Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology, and Fu Jen Catholic University in northern Taiwan; National Taichung University of Education in central Taiwan; National Cheng Kung University and Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages in southern Taiwan.

Participants for simulated test at registration will be charged at only NT$100 along with a complimentary high-quality gift. Test participants who hit the score at 55 or higher for listening and 60 or higher for reading tests will be eligible to receive a high-quality cup pad. Now seize this opportunity to win the gift and get more preparation for the official exam in May during the last week of registration for TOCFL simulated test.
