28 Taiwanese on 2014 Forbes billionaires list

Taipei, March 4 (CNA) Twenty-eight business magnates from Taiwan have been included by the Forbes magazine in its 2014 world's billionaires list, with snack food tycoon Tsai Eng-meng maintaining his title as the country's richest person. With a fortune of US$9.5 billion, the chairman of Want Want China Group is ranked 130th worldwide.

Coming in second is Tsai Wan-tsai and family with a net worth of US$7.6 billion. They are placed 173rd in the world. In third place is Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. CEO Terry Gou with US$5.4 billion, who is the world's 263rd richest. From 4th to 7th are Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co. Chairman Luo Jye and family with US$4.4 billion (340th); Union Group Chairman Lin Rong-san with US$4.2 billion (354th); Quanta Computer Inc. Chairman Barry Lam with US$4.1 billion (367th); and Hong Tai Group Chairman Lin Yu-lin with US$3.4 billion (466th).

From 8th to 10th are Ruentex Group Chairman Samuel Yin with US$3.3 billion (483rd); Formosa Plastics Group Vice Chairman Wang Yung-tsai with US$3.1 billion (520th); and former Cathay Financial Holding Vice Chairman T.Y. Tsai with US$2.1 billion (828th). (By Y.F. Low)
