FALUN, Sweden (AP) -- Teodor Peterson led a Swedish sweep of the podium in the men's sprint event at the cross-country World Cup finals on Friday, while Marit Bjoergen of Norway won the women's event.

Peterson completed the 1.4-kilometer classical sprint in 2 minutes, 55.97 seconds, beating compatriot Emil Joensson in a photo finish. Calle Halfvarsson was third.

In the women's 1.2K race, Bjoergen clocked 2 minutes, 50.46 seconds to beat Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg of Norway and Sweden's Stina Nilsson. Kikkan Randall of the United States, who already secured her third straight World Cup sprint title, came fourth.

With the win, Bjoergen now trails compatriot Therese Johaug by just three points in the overall World Cup standings heading into the last weekend. Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby has already clinched the men's overall title.
