STOCKHOLM (AP) -- A Swedish court has sentenced three neo-Nazis to prison terms of between six and eight months for attacking an anti-racism demonstration last year.

Four minors who were also involved in the violence were sentenced to community service.

The defendants are linked to a neo-Nazi group called the Swedish resistance movement.

On Dec. 15, the group clashed with left-wing activists and police at a rally against racism in a Stockholm suburb, leaving several people injured.

The Sodertorn court on Wednesday found the neo-Nazis guilty of rioting, saying they started the violence by attacking the larger demonstration.

The defendants were expected to appeal.

The violence caught police off guard. Neo-Nazis have kept a relatively low profile in Sweden since a string of violent attacks in the 1990s.
