WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) -- All Blacks flyhalf Aaron Cruden will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after breaking a thumb during a Super Rugby match in South Africa on Saturday.

Cruden is in danger of missing at least the first match of New Zealand's three-test home series against England in June and his injury jeopardizes the Chief's bid for a third straight Super Rugby title.

The injury occurred during the Hamilton-based Chiefs' 43-43 draw with the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein. Cruden was taken to hospital for X-rays after the match which discovered the fracture.

The first test against England is on June 7.
