Taipei, April 30 (CNA) The fifth meeting of the Taiwan-Turkey Business Council is slated for May in Taipei to advance cooperation between the two countries, the organizers said Wednesday. The meeting is scheduled for May 6, with a focus on cooperation in the areas of information and communication technology and food, said the Taipei-based Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association. The one-day meeting will serve as an important platform to promote exchanges between Taiwanese and Turkish businesses, especially in the fields of electronics and electrical engineering, the association said. During the meeting, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association will sign a memorandum of understanding with its Turkish counterpart to increase exchanges, according to the association. The association signed an agreement with its Turkish counterpart, the Foreign Economic Relations Board, to organize meetings under the business council, the first of which was held in 2007.
