Taipei, May 3 (CNA) Two Taiwanese nationals involved in a Friday shooting in the Philippines that claimed the life of a Hong Kong citizen are unharmed, Taiwan's Foreign Ministry said Saturday, adding that an initial investigation did not find the two connected to any criminal activity. Ministry spokeswoman Anna Kao said the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines has been informed about the incident. An unidentified gunman reportedly shot at the vehicle that carried two Taiwanese and two Hong Kong citizens as it entered an alley in downtown Manila Friday night, resulting in the one casualty. Police have not ruled out robbery as a possible motive, adding that further investigation is needed. (By Tang Pei-chun and Lee Hsin-Yin)
