Taipei, May 26 (CNA) The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), in collaboration with the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, will hold a summer camp in Pingtung for Taiwanese and Japanese students to discuss environmental issues. The camp, to be held at the museum in the southern Taiwan county from Aug. 29-31, will focus on oceanography, green policy, eco-friendly art and sustainable business, the AIT said. Applications for the camp are open until June 5 for third- and fourth- year university students, said the AIT, which represents U.S. interests in Taiwan in the absence of diplomatic ties. The three-day camp will provide an opportunity for 25 students from Taiwan and 15 from Japan to share ideas about environmental issues, the AIT said. Last year, the AIT organized a similar program for 50 Taiwanese university students to discuss international relations, arts and culture, and the involvement of non-governmental organizations in international affairs, at a two-day camp in the eastern county of Yilan.
