Taipei, June 3 (CNA) Taiwan could see torrential rain across the country until June 7 due to the effects of a stationary front, the Central Weather Bureau said Tuesday, cautioning the public of the risk of flooding and landslides. As of 8:50 p.m., Chiayi City in southern Taiwan had topped the country with over 235 mm of accumulated rainfall for the day, according to the bureau. Starting from the following day, parts of Taiwan and the outlying islands of Matsu, Kinmen and Penghu could see intermittent rain or brief thunderstorms, the bureau said. The unstable weather will continue until for as long as the stationary front stays in Taiwan, according to the forecast. (By Chen Tzu-ling and James Lee)
