Evaluation Committee of the National New Immigrate Torch Project recognizes achievement of Kinmen County Government

Evaluation Committee of the National New Immigrate Torch Project arrived in Kinmen County on May 30 to evaluate the Torch Project which Kinmen County Government had launched to offer the children of new immigrants the well counseling and service of culture and education. The Evaluation Committee of the National New Immigrate Torch Project visited the Jin Sha Elementary school, Gucheng Elementary School and Wu Pu Elementary School and other schools which launched the project. The Evaluation Committee noted that the effects of the project on these schools are good.

The Evaluation Committee comprises of professor of National Taipei University of Education Hung Fu-tsai and the principle of Yong Ping Elementary School in New Taipei City Lin Hui-chuan. They attended the presentation presented by schools that launched the torch project at the audio-visual room of Gucheng Elementary School on May 30. In addition to the presentations, sharing the experiences and rate of progress and quality, they also reviewed the book materials, visited the surroundings and interviews.

The vice director of Department of Education, Kinmen County 陳金文Chen Jin-wen said there are more than 2,000 new immigrant families living in Kinmen County. Our government launched the torch project to develop the internet as well as assist new immigrants to make well adaptation to local lives. We hope to build a society with abundant multiple cultures and appeal people to promote and respect the different cultures.
