Taiwanese contestant enters finals at world coffee brewing contest

Taipei, June 12 (CNA) A Taiwanese coffee-making expert has entered the finals of the World Brewers Cup being held in Rimini, Italy, the Taiwan Coffee Association said Thursday. Wei Ju-ying, who runs a coffeehouse in Taichung, central Taiwan, is scheduled to compete with five other contestants from Norway, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Greece and Italy, respectively, for the championship later in the day. The World Brewers Cup is being held June 10-12 alongside the World Barista Championship and the World Coffee Roasting Championship. Berg Wu, another Taiwanese, was eliminated in the semifinals of the World Barista Championship. (By Angela Tsai and Y.F. Low)
