Taipei, June 26 (CNA) Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin, the first NBA player of Taiwanese descent, will coach young players in Taiwan in mid-July in an annual camp that this year will also feature his former New York Knicks teammate Steve Novak, organizers said Thursday.

Lin, who rose to popularity in Taiwan after his breakthrough season with the Knicks in 2012, is scheduled to host a camp for junior and senior high school students in Taipei from July 19-20 for the fourth straight year.

There is a different twist to this year's camp, however, because Novak, who now plays for the Toronto Raptors, will lend a hand in coaching the young participants. Lin will arrive in Taiwan on July 16 and stay here for a week. This year, organizers will also allow non-players in the camp at the National Taiwan University Sports Center, offering fans of Lin and Novak a chance to watch them close-up as spectators. Registration for players opens July 1 at 2:00 p.m. while that for spectators begins July 7 at 2:00 p.m. and ends July 11 at 2:00 p.m. (By Lee Yu-cheng and Scully Hsiao)
